Proposition 65 Workshop

Safe Food Alliance has partnered with the California League of Food Producers (CLFP), who have organized a Proposition 65 Workshop for our members on July 11, 2018 in Sacramento.  Given how Proposition 65 has impacted all aspects of the food industry this is a timely and important workshop to attend.

10-11AM Proposition 65: The Basics
An introduction to the legal requirements and regulations of Proposition 65 and the potential litigation exposure for companies selling products into California.  Discussion of how Proposition 65 is enforced and how the law is applied to and impacts the food and retail industries.

Proposition 65: The Science
A panel of toxicologists will address the scientific basis for the listing of chemicals, No Significant Risk Levels (NSRL), Maximum Allowable Dose Levels (MADL), and the science behind risk assessments and exposure assessments.

Lunch Program: Hot Proposition 65 Issues for the Food and 
Retail Industries 
The legal and advocacy panel will address the most significant Proposition 65 issues impacting the food and retail industries including new food warning regulations, the recent Furfuryl Alchohol listing, and developments on BPA and lead and what it all means to the industry.

1:45-3: 00 PM Compliance Strategies in the Ever Changing World of Prop 65
The legal panel will address specific strategies for Proposition 65 compliance and reducing liability for food producers and retailers.
