Microbiological Testing

Safe Food Alliance laboratories offer expert services in the areas of microbiological analysis. Samples are analyzed with methods approved by the Association of Official Analytical Chemists and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Our microbiology laboratories offer both traditional methods and modern methods for your testing needs. We offer rapid pathogen detection methods using PCR, ELFA (Enzyme Linked Fluorescent Assay) Phage and immuno concentration technology. Our laboratories also provide a variety of test methods for indicator organisms such as: direct plate count, Most Probable Number (MPN), and PetrifilmTM. Our staff can advise you on which method best suits your commodity and preferred turn-around-time.

Our Capabilities

Our Microbiological testing equipment for the detection of pathogens, includes Suretect™ PCR, Bio Rad CFX96 Deep Well, and ELFA VIDAS. We also have the PATHATRIX Auto Instrument™ that allows the concentration and isolation of target pathogens from a wide range of food and environmental sample matrices in about 15 minutes for PCR testing.
