The beginning of November brought an end to an exciting World Series between the Houston Astros and the Los Angeles Dodgers. It also meant that we are in the penultimate month of construction on Safe Food Alliance’s new Kingsburg facility, which is on track for a December completion date.
Workers are busy painting walls, hanging T-bar for the ceiling tiles and preparing the parking lot for paving. The electrical wiring is completed and cabinetry is scheduled to be installed during the middle of November. The HVAC systems and finished plumbing will be completed by the end of the month. The new building is designed for the 21st century with advanced digital security, communications and environmental systems. Finishing touches and final inspections should be completed by the end of 2017 and Safe Food Alliance should begin the New Year with the keys to a new home.
The South Valley Laboratory and DFA inspection offices should be completely moved to Kingsburg in the first few months of 2018, and our training staff will begin to host onsite food safety classes in our state-of-the-art educational facilities. The month of April begins with a new baseball season and will end with a terrific open house: Safe Food Alliance will host a day of guided tours, food and refreshments on April 26th, 2018 to introduce our new Kingsburg home. Mark your calendars and we will see you there!
