Safe Food Alliance Kingsburg Center is Complete

One year and five days after the construction contract was signed, the City of Kingsburg signed the Final Inspection Card indicating that the new Safe Food Alliance facility is ready for occupancy. We officially took control of the site from West Star Construction on January 11th, 2018. With the completion of construction, the final interior touch-ups and equipment installations are now underway. Exhaust hoods, specialized gas and water lines are being installed to feed the scientific instruments soon to come. By the end of January, all of these last steps should be complete and the Kingsburg Center will be completed.

Office and training room furnishings and a 21st Century A/V system will be installed over the next month. A “shakedown” process of confirming that all environmental systems such as coolers, freezers, incubators and sterilizers are operating within the specifications will also be conducted. Once this is completed, the process of moving in and making the facility operational can begin.

The South Valley Laboratory and DFA inspection offices scheduled to be completely moved to Kingsburg by this March. Later this year, our food training staff will begin to host onsite classes in our state-of-the-art educational facilities. Planning is underway for an open house celebration on April 25th, 2018. Guided tours, refreshments and an official opening ceremony will mark the day, so please be sure to attend!
